In Response To: Epoxy: Epoxy Failure: is there any hope ? (Greywuuf)

: Building a Yost Sea Tour 15 EXP. Epoxied the chines and gunwales to
: the cross sections, but due to an unexpected turn of the weather
: and a failure of the heating system in the building shop, the
: Epoxy (locktite brand 1 hour pot life ) was exposed to mid to
: high 40 degree temperatures over night. Needless to say the
: epoxy did NOT set up, and though it is not still runny it is
: pretty close to dried rubber cement, you can press your
: fingernail into it and it will peel easily. Is there any chance
: these joints will continue to set up if I can get it into a
: heated environment?

: Thanks
: Dan

Cold temps slow the reaction of the hardener and resin, they don't stop it, moving it to a warm place will help it cure fully, though it'll likely take longer than it would have normally.
