: Hi all.
: I have recently been flagged down by a couple with kids and camping
: gear in the rear of their wagon. They were gobsmacked by my
: Guillemot on the roof rack. He has good carpentry skills (guitar
: building etc.) and wants to strip build a pair of open cockpit
: doubles, suitable for one adult and one child, 8 - 12yr olds,
: plus some camping kit, for use on small inland waters. Can
: anyone suggest designs / sources for something to fit the bill.
: I thought 14ft OAL and 24"+ beam might be about the right
: size. Help!

CLC Mill Creek 16.5 hybrid - stitch and glue, but with a strip deck.
Or the Chuckanut 15, which could be strip planked - Tom Yost did one of his SOF's that way. It might look pretty nice. It looks - and works - pretty good as SOF, though.

I could be biased.

I think 24" is a bit small for a tandem.
