Hi Nick,

I just thought I would add to what the others have said. I'm 5' 8", 160 lbs and smaller flippers, my current play boat has a very low deck (7") the cockpit is 15 wide and 19-1/2" long, with the back brace about 1-1/4" forward of the coaming. My biggest issue is staying limber. In a boat this small you have to be able to point your feet and hyperextend your knees to slip in. With Sticky bottom shoes it's impossible, so I wear neo socks and shorts. But the big thing is strecthing alot. It's not so much excercise and less TV. It's more watching TV and stretching :)

As far as my preference for deck height, now that I am comfortable sitting straight legged with toes pointed for hours at a time, I love the respone of a tight fitting greenland boat. Fast nimble and rolls like a dream!

But hey, at 82 and still able to build and paddle, YOU ROCK dude! Build what ever suits your needs. Enjoy the shop, and happy paddling!

Kent
