Hi Wes:

I just bought that same camera (Lumix TS2) to use on kayak trips, and am trying to learn - I am not much of a photographer. I would really appreciate any pointers. Could you tell me which of the various modes (iA, Normal, Sports, Beach...) you use on the water? Are you able to let it do it's thing on the iA mode, or do you have to do something special to keep your water shots from being washed out? And do you do anything special to deal with water on the lens? I am a bit nervous about wiping the lens a lot, but I may have to get over that. I really held my breath the first time I put the camera under water to take pictures of some sea stars!

Thanks!

Ralph Merriman

: I recently bought a Panasonic Lumix camera based upon a discussion
: on this list a few months ago. This camera has a Leica lens, 14
: mega pixel receptor, 12x zoom, and is fully waterproof to 33
: foot depth. After use in salt water, the instructions say to
: soak it in fresh water for ten minutes, then leave it on a towel
: to dry. It will take up to two hours of hi-definition video, and
: survive a drop from six feet. Best of all, it takes spectacular
: photos - very clear and true colors. It fits neatly and snugly
: next to my seat in front of the hip brace, clipped to a paddle
: leash in case it slips from my hands. -Wes
