More seriously: Shark. That's a really interesting idea. I'm not sure if it's practical. It would be worth trying perhaps if you
already had plans to make two take apart paddles one Aleut and one Greenland.

For myself I would just go out on a nice day, good conditions try one paddle over a particular distance or time and then the other.
I'd do it only with a stop-watch or GPS (one day testing kayaks my friend George brought his GPS. A couple of Greenland style fiberglass kayaks felt really really fast,
when I borrowed George's GPS it was clear what gave me the feeling of speed was the huge bow wave these two particular 'yaks were kicking up, the fastest 'yaks made almost no bow wave and didn't feel fast at all.

As I ask my science students: Why do you pay $50 to go to Disneyland, wait in hour long line to ride roller coasters that go a maximum of 30 mph, you scream and
and are thrilled; but when mom drives you home at 70 mph you fall asleep?
