Paddle: aleut paddle sizing

hello again,

thanks for all the help with the glue up question, I have a bunch of titebond so Ill give it a try for the first paddle.

This next question concerns sizing an Aluet style paddle. There is tons of info On greenland design/sizing But I find little on west coast native designs. I like MY GP paddles and they work just fine, My reason for an aluet design is a paddle for faster cruising , My GPs are comfortable most of the times but id like more speed and less rpm when I paddle with some of my friends for short afterwork fast cruises.

some questions

1) I notice the pronounced spine on one side of an Aluet(the few examples I saw on Net) but is the back side Flat or dug/hollwed out (spooned per say??) Eric Shade advised he hollows (Concaved) the back side out on his Aluet type paddles

2) loom length sized like GP or longer??

3) blade width seems wider than GP but still narrower than Euro

4) overall length , (depends on application???)

many thanks again

"John"
