: Hey everyone, well it's been about 3 months since I finished my
: first strip kayak....starting to get the itch....I'm considering
: a s&g for my next one. I like the looks, also, I would like
: something that is maybe a bit simpler/quicker to build....less
: sanding/planing etc.....am I correct in assuming this? I'm not
: real familiar with the construction process. Also, as far as
: designs, I'm looking for a stable kayak that I can easily slide
: into with my size 12's with xtra tuffs on. I was looking at the
: golden eye hi deck by pygmy as a possibility. Any input????

I love my Pygmy Coho and I have size 12 feet (I wear neoprene boots when paddling-it's a bit cramped if I try to wear chaco sandals in it). If you want a really big, roomy boat they have a new boat called the Borealis (to me it would be too huge!). The Arctic Tern and Coho also come in a high volume version. The Golden Eye is nice but shorter. I was told that the Golden Eye is very strong tracking as compared to the others. I only have direct experience with the Arctic Tern standard 17 and the Coho standard, both of which I built, own, and paddle.
