Hi Mike!

I couldn't agree more, I found hip padding a poor soultion. After playing with Greenland boats and lots of rolling with many other style boats I find less padding in the hips the better. When the hips are padded you end up much more restricted and have a higher center of gravity when your lay on the water in a balance brace. That makes it harder to twist in the seat to brace and roll. I find being able to lock my legs aganist the under side of the deck a better approach. Also as far the skirt popping off I have this problem on my early boats and have changed to a wider lip on my later boats. A full neoprene skirt with the hard rubber, more grippy edges works best. Any form of colth on a skirt leaks and causes the boat to fill with water much quicker.

If you really want to get serious about rolling go lower profile, narrow hull, ocean cockpit. Sorry I'm addicted to rolling!

I need another trip out to see you west coast guy's it been 10 years!

Kent
