Chopper gun fiberglass would work fine for a kayak "if" you didn't mind the weight. It's usually grossly resin rich. Chopped strands on the fairly rounded surfaces of a kayak will work ok. Not as strong as fabric or the non-woven cloths but still works. Look at NDK's kayaks, been around for years. I doubt that they use chopper guns, the machine ain't cheap and resin's expensive. But I know from experience and listing to Brian that they use glass mat, which is effectively the same thing. Heck I wish I could use it, I've got a full roll of the stuff in my garage.
