Strip: fixing wetout problem

Am in the midst of 'glassing and had a batch of epoxy kick off earlier than expected. (Operator error? Three other batches, done right before and after, went fine.) The thickening epoxy didn't wet out the cloth in spots, but hardened over it before soaking into the fibers. Can I fix this by sanding down to expose the unfilled weave of the fiberglass and re-applying more viscous epoxy, or do I need to remove the fiberglass entirely and patch the areas involved?
