Had a request for pics, so I'll post what we have, so far. The messabout went great! I worried that only a couple of people would show up, as there has been zero boat building community here in Colorado - even though there are apparently scads of builders!
Anyway, we had 18-19 boats show up, all told, plus lots more people than that, of course. I didn't get a head count, or take many pics as I was busy the whole time.
There were some great boats, and we had all kinds - from a one sheet (of plywood) skiff, to a beautifully restored 1934 powerboat, plus various canoes and kayaks and sailing and rowing boats. There's a lot of boatbuilding going on here!

The highlight, for me, was loaning out my teeny blue kidyak to the pile of kids that got dragged there by their folks. Several of them got their first ever on-their-own boating experience - and now there are a few parents who will likely have to build all of them a kayak!

Also, it turns out that, in the small town we held this even in, there are two guys each building CLC Wood Duck kayaks, who had no notion that they lived in just a few minutes from each other . . . .

Anyway, here's a link to some of the preliminary pictures. There will be more to come, I'm sure

And here's a pic of Denver sea kayaker, Brian, trying out a Greenland kayak (my Disko Bay), for the first time. A lot different from his plastic Prijon! Brian brought along the deck frame for a trad SOF he's building, and I suspect he's pretty motivated to finish it now!
