Learned a lot this evening. First, the Night Heron doesn't seem the least unstable. Second, it is very easy to go fast. Third, it turns easier than my 13' Manitou. Finally, it frequently and suddenly goes where it wants to go without any intentional input from me. It was a little unnerving. I'm sure refining my paddling skills would help but for now it is too lively for me. There was about a 3 - 5 knot wind with six inch waves. Pretty gentle.
