Material: Non-contact-type adhesive for minicell

I shaped some minicell as backrest / side padding to fit in my latest s&g kayak. Its a snug fit, and I know that, using contact cement, I would have trouble getting the pieces into position without them touching the hull, and sticking prematurely. Any suggestions for a NON contact type adhesive, one that will allow a little movement before it bonds? I suppose I could use epoxy, but I was hoping for something else. Even just a few minutes of open time would make the difference.
