Off Topic: Kayaking Tragedy in Portland Maine

Two girls were found dead today after a kayaking accident late yesterday. Among the incredible comments on the local newspaper's web site:

This just shows that kayaking should be more regulated. We need licensing for a start. With proper training these women would have worn wetsuits. Because the government does not require licensing and training these poor women died. With more patrols the Coast Guard would have caught these unlicensed kayakers, given them citations for operating without a license, confiscated their kayaks, and made them sit overnight in jail to think about it. They would be alive today if we had more laws.
