You could ...

Make a new inner stem ...
Fill the gap with epoxy and filler ...
Fill the gap with a wedge of wood ...
Do nothing and let epoxy from the interior glass run into the gap ...

BTW ... from your pics it's hard to tell but ... I hope you have taped the end form so the stem doesn't end up glued to it!
