I don't think posted photos but I tested and found the limits of a 7 oz nylon skin I used on VARDO. We 'poled' up shallow shoal on a creek and and on the way back down we decided it should be no big deal to run. Well that was a huge mistake. Ripped open the skin and left several small holes in the skin at the frames.

Since this was going to be touring boat and the one I used on the creeks I reskinned it in 12 oz nylon. Except for the extra weight it adds I am love this stuff. It's much easier IMO to sew on and looks good when done. It's doesn't wrinkle near as much when wet and within a few outings it doesn't wrinkle at all.

Yesterday we made another trip on the Paint Rock for some paddling and fishing and I made a push to have VARDO rigged out so I could use it. Steve got some good photos of the reincarnated VARDO. I finished in Dura-Tuff this time so I could have a true white boat.
