: I just glassed my boat with 4oz..complete. I added an extra layer
: to the football..and one on the hull floor..an extra
: layer underneath the deck.

: This used about half the epoxy i used compared to my last two boats
: and saves about 10 lbs.

: I may chicken out and add a layer of 6 oz to the inside of the
: hull, it will be a heavy use boat, coastal saltwater.

: Any opinions?

Anymore I consider 4 ounce with doubling in high stress areas, heavy weight construction. Now I normally use the tight weave 3.2 ounce used the same way and like it alot and while it's somewhat fragile it's also very light. I've given up on 6 ounce, takes too much resin to fill the weave, easier to double the 3.2 ounce and have a nearly perfect surface without any fill coats.
