: i am ready to start building a night heron and would like some
: advice to get started. my strongback is cut to 13' 11 " as
: indicated in the plan. which form is fastened first and how far
: from which end. should they be 12" on center? any tips is
: appreciated thank you bill

12" on center should be fine and is probably right with 1/2" overhang on the ends. For what it's worth, I am in the middle of fiberglassing my 14' great auk. I set my forms up flush on the front and back and used 12" spacers except for the middle which is slightly shorter to compensate for the flush ends. In that middle space I used a split spacer and wedged the forms tight. The point: I don't think the 1/2" made any difference. I had no problems with gaps when laying strips and everything looks to be true with a nice smooth curve all the way around.
