In Response To: Skin-on-Frame: Coaming from an Embroidery Hoop (Rosanna Lovecchio)

: I'm planning on using an 18" embroidery hoop for my coaming
: with a rope as the lip as per yostwerks site.

: Few questions:

: 1. On the site it says to mix an adhesive filler with the epoxy
: resin to bond the inner and outer hoops together.
: Question...just with the resin, not with the resin and the
: hardener? And... instead of this...can I just use gorilla glue
: to bond the inner and outer hoops together?

: 2. Also the site instructs to use 1/2" to 5/8" woven
: polyester rope as the lip. Bought 1/2" and it just seems so
: thick. Could I use a lesser diameter rope, ie. 1/4" or
: 3/8"?

: Thanks,

: Rosanna

The thickener if epoxy is used, is added to the resin and hardener after it's mixed.
