Keep it coming guys! I know someone has done what I am wanting to do.

I have one sheathed in 12 oz nylon and ZAR and it had been abused on flat water. I am amazed at how tough it is. Two years for running over rocks, stumps, tree limbs, drug through mud, sand, you name it and it still doesn't even need recoating.

Yesterday I found the limits of 7 oz nylon. I will post something latter, but I have to reskin my new VARDO. I ruined the skin on it running a shoal I should have portaged around. It has 3 or 4 small holes and one big 'L' shaped tear (due to a design flaw). On the positive side, I learned some things that I need to change in my canoe design that will make it stand up better to the abuse. One thing I realize now is the forces are MUCH greater. With a current pushing your moving with a lot more force and speed than on flat water. When you hit something and come to a sudden stop, boy is it a hard hit! One of those things I knew, but had forgotten about.
