I have now tacked the deck! I cant believe that i was so puzzled as to how to achieve this. I looked at it an nothing made sense !! ( I am not sure what that says for me!!) Thank you for all your help. Nick also sent me some good advice too.

I really needed you help to break the "builders Block" I seemed to have suffered.

Thank you

Then the inside shear is epoxied with a syringe as far as

: Another approach is the use of shear clamps, as seen on the
: VOLKSKAYAK. A piece of 1/2"x1/2" pine is secured to
: the upper edge of the topsides and encapsulated with epoxy
: resin. The deck is prepared as usual - loosely lace the
: centreline, lay it over the forms, adjust it, tack with epoxy,
: then tape the center seam. When it cures, remove the deck, flip
: it over, tape the underside of the seam and epoxy-coat the ply.
: The shear clamp is then smeared with 'peanut butter' thickened
: epoxy, and the deck screwed down to the clamp. Once the epoxy
: sets, the screws are removed, the shear rounded over, and then
: taped. Strong and tough, the use of a shear clamp adds very
: little weight and simplifies construction by eliminating the
: need to tape the inside of the hull/deck seam.
