: Hi everyone,
: I'm about to cut my box beam strongback to length for a Guillemot
: single, and I really don't want to mess it up. I've studied the
: book and ascertained that the overall length is either 15' or
: 14' 11". Can someone clarify? Also, the book calls for
: making forms 8, 9 and 10 complete, them cutting off the tops for
: the cockpit recess and hot gluing them back in place to help
: keep the deck strips fair. My offset table for those 3 forms
: doesn't include the tops. I might be looking at this wrong...

I'm building a Guillemot from the book too. I've built my strongback. The information I got from the book is 14' 11", and it works out out with the dimensions for the end forms. The difference is the two 1/2 form thicknesses.

Here's a link to my drawing for the strongback

and I'm documenting my build at

For cutting off the tops of forms 8,9 and 10, I'll eye-ball a distance relative to the DWL for that cut/glue.
