: When aligning the forms on the strongback, how do i keep the forms
: vertical (Seen from the side of the kayak, not the end)?
: In this article:
: Mike Scarborough describes this as the 7th and 8th ways of
: misalignment
: I know how to find the vertical position of the forms (for example
: with a level), but not how to make the stay there.
: I plan to use an external strongback.

: Palle Dam, Denmark

Start with your bow station and stem forms (joined) and use a level to plumb the #1 station, then connect the stem form to the strongback with a block. With the #1 station plumb, lay a couple scrap strips on either side of the keel line and tack them to the #1 station. Now work your way down the stations from #2 on, plumbing each one and tacking the strips to the top of each station at the keel.
