If have a serious number of decklines that need to run through one fitting, consider making recessed ones with bars. The round wooden ones are neat, easy to turn on a lathe or with a router and jigs, and plenty strong. If I remember correctly Nick talks about them in his first book and his brother Eric offers them for sale.
For this painted Njord I made carbon fiber recesses with stainless steel pins (the hatches also sit in CF recesses). My customer didn't want a clean look so I painted all the recesses. I still think it was crazy to paint the carbon...
