Point taken, but I never called this a Baidarka. I said from the fist sentence "Working on a Baidarka styled boat", maybe I should have said 'inspired' instead of styled. I know there is a lot differences and that's on purpose. I realize that will not set well with some people and there are some things that I don't like to see changed either. But I don't think I would ever be comfortable in a true Baidarka either.

: I was looking at some baidarka pictures in Wolfghang Brinck's book
: and except for the bifurcated stem you boat seems too modern to
: be called a baidarka.
: Baidarkas have long, very tapered, front sections with the cockpit
: set well behind the center and have a rim that is flush with the
: deck. The ridgepole of the decks forms almost a level line from
: stem to stern.
