RUTH, my SOF rowing wherry design, is still super. It's a pain to put a boat in the water around here (inspections and fees and anti-zebra mussel hose offs, etc), but I've gotten her out a number of times, anyway. Rows like a dream. I have yet to put the sliding seat in, but even fixed seat rowing is amazingly rewarding. I abraded my butt pretty raw one day, from rowing so much!
