In Response To: S&G: Fiberglass vs. polyurethane paint. (Brian Scarborough)

: Our CLC Chesapeake project continues. God, this thing is taking forever...

: Anyway, we finally got to the sanding part today. I'm pretty sure that we
: have, in spots, gone through the epoxy fill coats into the glass. And in
: other spots, we haven't sanded completely smooth.

: I am aware that any varnish over exposed fiberglass is a bad cosmetic flaw.

: But what about polyurethane paint (Interlux, Pettit, etc.)?

: Do you all think we should squeegee a very light coat of epoxy, and then sand
: lightly?

: Or just paint it?

: We'd very much like to get this thing launched in the next two weeks...

: Thanks,
: Brian

If you're going to paint it, doesn't matter if you've sanded into the glass, matters if you've sanded thru it though.

If you've just roughed up the glass won't hurt the paint.
