: After sanding and bleaching it looks almost as good as new. There are a few
: dark spots here and there, but this is just the first sanding, and I
: believe all will come out after finish sanding. This is the wood dry. It
: looks amazing when wet out. As I was washing it down with the bleach and
: water solution my heart jumped. It looked amazing. The lighter strips are
: pine, which I kind of regret because the pine darkens with age, but the
: bleaching really brought that back. If I had to do it again I think I
: would go with yellow cedar instead of pine. Anyway, I will post progress
: reports and look forward to the re-launching of Pyxis, which was named
: after the constellation that makes up the compass needle in the
: constellation Argo if any of you know your astronomy. I thought since a
: kayak looks like a compass needle it was a fitting name. I may rename her
: "Phoenix" once this is all done!!!

Pretty amazing 'recovery'. BTW, does your 'friend' walk with a bit of a hitch in his step, now?
