Strip: Comparing for stability

I have built 3 stitch and glues and now its time to build a strip. I am taking a serious look at the Guillemot "L". Due to my size my choices are limited. 6'4" and 270 lbs. My main concern is stability. I paddle a Chesapeake 18 now. At times I am uncomfortable when the waves pick up over a couple feet. My question is how does the Guillemot L compare to the Ches 18 for stability?
