Len, what you want for deck lines is their "Sport Cord", which is braided polyester ("Dacron" is just a Dupont trade name for polyester). It's not 1/4", but that's excessively large for deck lines and very few boats use cord that thick. The Sport Cord is perfect for deck lines and I've used it on many boats.
