There is a very limited market for very expensive top quality wooden kayaks, usually strip-built boats with an extremely high level of finish. Apart from that specialized niche, the average strip-built would probably sell in the same price range as composite FG kayaks, which means your single design would be competing against literally hundreds of well-established commercial kayaks. Stitch-and-glue kayaks run smack into the huge number of plastic kayak designs out there, which are perceived (incorrectly) as being more durable than S&G boats.

In short, unle4ss you have what it takes to crack that tiny top-end niche, it's a bit like the farmer who won the lottery, and declared that he intended to keep right on farming...until the money ran out...:->))
