: I'm getting close to finishing construction on a stitch and glue Chesapeake
: 16LT custom chop. (Yeah, I whacked 1" off the sheer line. Custom
: chop, you know, like hot rods.) Notice I said construction... I reckon
: we'll be sanding as long as we were building :)

: Anyway, what are the favorite paints to use anymore? The decision was made to
: go primarily paint, and not varnish, though maybe the deck will be
: varnished. Not my choice, I'm just along as the "project
: manager." I'm guessing that we'd use a urethane topsides marine
: paint.

: Does the combined wisdom of the forum favor a particular brand? Interlux?
: Petit? Other?

: I think I read somewhere that urethanes are preferred any more, and not to
: bother with an epoxy paint. I think I'd prefer a one part urethane over a
: two part. (I'm tired of mixing epoxy, I guess...)

: Thanks,
: Brian

I've used alot of both Interlux and Pettit Easy-poxy, mostly I decide depending on the color as the two companies paints don't have the same colors. Given a choice I'll use Pettit every time.
