The masik position will depend on the size of the coaming you plan to use as that is it's primary duty. If the coaming is sized small (round), the masik will be well up your thighs and you need a knee brace beam to support your legs just above the knee. If the coaming is longer (oval), the masik can serve to support both the coaming and your legs. I've done this on a couple of boats, since I use a coaming sized the same as a VCP ocean cockpit.
