I paddled an interesting folding kayak on the Tualatin River today. It was built in 1979 from Popular Mechanics magazine plans. It is 10' long and made of plywood and canvas. The canvas is glued to the plywood with contact cement an waterproofed with house paint. It folds up to take up very little space.

It is a fun little flatwater rec boat that turns on a dime and would be cheap and easy to build. A good school, scout, or summer camp project.
