: this is my first post and there for dont even know if it is in the right
: spot.
: I see myself building a strip boat in the near future and am currently doing
: the research of which one to build. At this point I have pretty much
: decided upon the Guillemot. My only question is how does this boat perform
: in the real world, I am used to paddeling a Valley Auqanaut and really
: like its turning ability, stability, and speed. I am just worried about
: sinking 200 hours into a boat and not liking its characteristics. So to
: some it up how would the Guillemot compare to the Valley Auqanaut or any
: other commercially available models that I could even demo before making
: my choice. thats for any information anyone could provide
If you post where your are at you may find someone with a kayak you can try out. My Guillemot is just as Nick describes on his site. I am 200lbs and feel like you put on the kayak after your wet suit and then go play in the waves. I have not paddled a lot of different kayaks but it is the quickest kayak. Loves open ocean.
