I shortened an OI about a foot without any issues. I also changed the forms by shrinking them 10%, as I felt the original was too big for my size. My husband took a foot off his OI, but added an inch of rocker on each end. We like both boats, but they are different from the original. We also hardly ever make a boat strictly to the plans:)
