: I've decided to cover an upcoming Yost build with vinyl, for toughness,
: workability, no finish coat, etc. I'm a bit confused by several sets of
: similar items. Tom primarily mentions use of 18 oz. Coverlight PVC.
: Checking his link for Mauritzon Inc., I find Coverlight in 16 oz. black,
: and 17 oz. white, yellow, red, green. But, no 18 oz. They don't specify
: that it is PVC or vinyl.

: At some point, Tom mentioned Coverene. This is 18 oz, and comes in 11 colors,
: and is designated by Mauritzon as vinyl coated fabric.

: In his recent post, here, Dan Mouw linked to 14 oz. clear vinyl coated
: polyester, at Seattlefabrics.com.

: %20Vinyl%20Laminated%20Polyester

: The next item down on the page is 18 oz. VCP, in 7 colors. Is VCP (vinyl
: coated polyester) a type of PVC? I note they sell the HH-66 glue for it
: that Tom recommends, and I like the more user-friendly layout of the
: Seattlefabrics site.

: So, I'm confused by Mauritzon, and intrigued by the two Seattlefabrics
: products. Can anyone comment on any or all, and/or alleviate my general
: confusion?

: As a side-note on my hatch seals, I did get a new roll of material from CLC,
: along with 2 other candidates. The original type material still had the
: best composition. I tried Nick's suggestion for affixing a razor blade and
: guides to trim its width, but this particularly compressible material
: would not cooperate; it may have related to the release paper being on the
: non-adhesive side of the material. Anyway, I was able to trim to width
: with scissors much better than my previous attempt, got it installed, and
: it's been leak free! The material has settled some in thickness, as many
: expected it would.

Tom used to use Coverlite, but it's not made anymore. Coverene is to material Tom's found as a replacement.
