Look at dock edge bumper. Typically hollow D shape, a couple of inches across, with edge flanges. Some are flexible enough to wrap around a square bar. Some have edges that form a right angle. Drill holes through the sections through which to run zip ties. I've been using this stuff for years on my rack. I occasionally replace a lost or worn section.
: Our paddling club just got a free 10 kayak (or more) trailer. The cross bars
: are plain steel. On my trailer the boats sit on saddles, somewhat cost
: prohibitive to do that for 10 boats. Dealer's trailer has rubber pads that
: are glued to the tops of the cross arms. Anyone got any idea where these
: pads can be found?
: Thanks,
: Bill H.
