I've always used Yakima products because it's what I bought when I started. The Thule stuff is excellent too, for me the Yakima stuff is made in this country and Thule's imported.

I haul the wood boats sitting on their bottoms sitting on cradles, Yakima's Mako saddles with their felt pads I use on the wood boats. Well except for the cat with it's funny shaped hulls then I made my own saddles.
