I just finished my version of Tom Yost's "Kidarka." Took about 8 days to build, total, including 2 days of superfluous painting. It's 11' long, weight = negligible, skinned in 8oz polyester from George Dyson, coated with Zar polyurethane and oil paint.

I built it for a friend's 6 yr old son - and I hope his younger sister doesn't get too upset I didn't build her one (yet)! I painted PNW native style stuff on the boat to pique his interest - but I suspect if I'd painted pirate stuff on it that he'd be happier!

I had planned to build a teeny baidarka, and was just starting to design it when Tom produced this design - very convenient! Thanks, Tom.
