I made the mistake of trying the 'staple quick then cover in epoxy' method. I didn't use bead/cove so I had to use yellow glue anyways to keep the strips from wandering in the spans between stations. Anyways, I ended up with a beautiful hull covered in epoxy with yellow glue drips trapped underneath. Tomorrow I should be finished sanding the whole thing down.. awful awful job.

I think I am going to stain it now with Solar Lux to make it darker and I have a question. Does anyone know a trick to double check for remaining epoxy on the wood? I am afraid of leaving some tiny leftover bit of epoxy and it interfering with/blocking the stain. I tried wiping with water but it didn't seem to give a contrast.

If I miss a spot, I don't know whether I should sand it immediately and restain, or just stain it all and go back and sand spots and try to get the stain to blend in, which I think will be difficult.

Also, any application tips for the Solar Lux stain would be appreciated.
