Hi boat is polyester and it does stink. Heck a number of years back I cut a hole in the bottom of my then 30 year old fiberglass sailboat for a new depth gauge and that polyester still stunk. There have been a number of threads about this, the experts as I remember say that even the tiny particles that go right thru most cartridges will carry the smell.

Btw, no such thing as an "everything chemical" cartridge :)
