You know, it's all relative. If you built your boat, it's yours, so it's your decision if the freeboard is "right" or not. Especially if you altered the design. How does it paddle? If you like it it's perfect!

I think the rule for the Greenland rolling competition is 1 cm freeboard or greater. The attached link is a general page, but there's a photo of Malagiaq Padilla in his rolling kayak. As far as freeboard- water is washing over the aft deck. It might be helpful to look at the video clips of the forward strokes on the Qajaq USA web site as well, particularly the ones with multiple kayaks. There's quite a variety of freeboard.
