Skin-on-Frame: Sea Tour 17 exp coaming *LINK*

Hi all.

I´m building a Yost Sea Tour 17 exp as you can see in by swedish blog.

Now to my consern, do I have to use the big (32" x 16")which will rest on the section 3 and 4? Or can I use a smaller coaming that only rests on the skin?
