I'm seeking opinions, good and bad, of a couple of different rudders I am considering to put on my first ever strip built kayak, a Guillemot L.

My first question was regarding the Smart Track rudder system; has anyone used it, and how does it actually perform? It sounds like it works great from what I've read, but I don't like the thought of a rudder that sticks up vertically when not deployed.

Another option I'm considering is the Smart Track foot braces and track combined with a Feathercraft rudder.

Or alternatively, just keeping it basic and use the Feathercraft complete rudder kit.

Any other helpful thoughts?
