I took a forward stroke class this past weekend--which is what got me interested in the wing paddle--and the commentary was that they are lousy for bracing, but quite good for rolling. This is an interesting difference in point of view. Then again, what I really like is going fast.

: Rolling and even most braces don't work with the wing, it gives very little
: support tending to dive when pressed. It's not really the ideal all around
: paddle, it's great for racing or exercizing though and it's fun to go fast
