So after teaching 5 classes at Central Oregon Community College, more than several boats have been finished. We are planning to have a wooden boat gathering on the Deschutes River which runs right through the town of Bend, Oregon. It will be on May 2, from 11-2. Open to all, bring food, drinks, and a boat or two if you have them. We will meet at Alder Creek Kayak and Canoe, south of the Colorado Bridge in the Old Mill. Geoff from Alder Creek will have a BBQ. Try out different boats, pre-paddle the kayak leg of Pole Peddle Paddle, and pick up some tips and tricks. I'll be bringing all the ships from my Oregon-based fleet, 10 wooden boats in all. Rumor has it that several model T's or A's from the local club will also show up. BTW, what's a model T or A? :-),I'm still in my 30's. Greg
