: I saw some Pine wood, it is light, least or small knots, white/light pale
: yellow in color. Seems to be very light, widely available, takes varnish.

: Will it be good for my Gunwale and Chine Stringers on my SOF? as compared to
: Jackwood and Red Cedar [Indian, Expensive]??

Without going back and looking at your previous posts, is this a Yost style SOF or a traditional SOF?

Pine will work fine, I'd try to not have any knots though, the lengthwise materials aren't large and knots make them weaker. Little tiny very tight knots aren't a problem normally.
