Geeeze Kim, all of a sudden I feel like I'm back at throwing together slapdash by-gosh-and-by-golly strongbacks! Thanks for posting, got a link to a photo album for us?

If I had a drum sander I might use it as you have. Those saw marks present more sanding challenge than you'd think if you didn't know better. That's why I stress ripping strips with a well-tuned saw, sharp blade, and as few stops as humanly possible for each one, I seldom have more than one stop, and thus one saw mark, per strip.

I'm doing a build log stressing basic shop methods because of a surge in first time boat builders on Texas Kayak Fisherman-dot-com. Lots of great questions are being asked, and I'm trying to take as much scary voodoo mojo or whateveritis out of strip building as possible. Figured there might be a few noobs around here as well, who might benefit also.
