Other alternatives as well. I've used bungee under the deck of even a low volume boat like the outer island. Easily fits a pump and inflatable paddle float. I prefer the water either on the deck, or in a platypus/camel back on back of PFD. Of course this wasn't my idea. Copied from John Caldeira's site, link below
